Picking a beer keg

A 1/2 barrel pours about 165 twelve-ounce beers, a 1/4 barrel about 82, and a 1/6 barrel about 55. For a mixed crowd, two 1/6 barrels of different styles usually beat one half barrel of the same thing — you get variety, and a sixtel fits a standard kegerator. Full size-and-servings breakdown.

Imported kegs in 50L need a European coupler; most domestic kegs use a D-system coupler. If you are renting a pump from us, we match the coupler to the keg — just tell us what you are ordering.

Tapping it

We rent keg pumps and jockey boxes and stock couplers, faucets, regulators and beer line in the equipment collection. Beer kegs carry a refundable $50 deposit, returned when the empty comes back — deposits and returns explained.

Delivery and pickup

San Francisco: Tuesday–Saturday, with same-day delivery on orders placed by 9 AM. East Bay: Tuesdays. Peninsula and South Bay: Wednesdays. Marin by arrangement. No deliveries on Sundays or Mondays. Keg delivery is limited to one flight of stairs (12 steps maximum). Zones, order minimums and delivery fees are listed on our delivery page.
